Corry Girls Fall to Eisenhower After Giving Up a Big Early Lead

Corry Girls Basketball Coach


Corry girls basketball traveled to Eisenhower for a non-region game on Monday night. After coming off a second place finish in the Northwestern Tip-Off Tournament, The Beavers were looking to build som early momentum for the season. Unfortunately Corry could not overcome a big early lead and the Knight picked up a 47-37 victory.


Eisenhower started out on fire, jumping out to a commanding 15-2 lead. From there, Corry settled down, battled hard, and showed a lot of grit. Corry competed with Eisenhower the rest of the game, matching them in the 2nd and 3rd quarters with 12 pts and 9 pts respectively. Heading into the 4th quarter down by 13, Corry put together a season high 14 pt quarter. However, it wasn't enough to complete the comeback, falling to the Knights.


Leading the way for Corry was Rylee Nickerson with her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Haley Mumau finished with 10 pts, five rebounds, and six assists. Sadye Dyne had six points and seven rebounds. Kaygen Rogers had five points and three rebounds. Regan Kemp netted four points, six rebounds, and three assists. Halle Albers finished with one assist and one rebound while Grace Allen had two rebounds before leave the game with an injury. 


"We didn't play our best ball early on and the girls know it. We are looking forward to practice on Tuesday. We have things to work on to get ready for our first home game against North East on Wednesday." Coach Ryan Mumau said.


The Beavers fall to 1-2 on the year and will host the North East Grape Pickers Wednesday Night. The Game will be broadcasted live on the the DeeJ Experience Sports Stream.
