CORRY, Pa. (DeeJ Experience) — The Corry Varsity Beavers scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday to rally past the Titusville Rockets 4–3 in a dramatic home opener victory.
Corry trailed 3–1 entering the final inning before mounting a comeback sparked by timely hits, walks and aggressive base running to secure the win at home March 24.
Tucker Jackson led the Beavers offensively, scoring two runs and driving in one, while Kamdyn Moon delivered two hits and two RBIs to power the late-game rally. Carson Braswell added a hit and reached base multiple times as Corry capitalized on walks in the final inning.
Titusville struck first in the fourth inning, scoring two runs to take a 2–1 lead. The Rockets added another run in the fifth inning to extend their advantage to 3–1 behind a steady offensive performance that produced seven hits in the game.
Corry, however, stayed within reach thanks to strong pitching performances from Bryce Chelton and Wyatt Swan. Chelton pitched four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, while Swan earned the win after pitching three innings and allowing one run while striking out five batters. Titusville pitcher Becker was charged with the loss after allowing three runs in relief during the final innings, despite recording seven strikeouts.
The Beavers finished the game with four hits and five walks, using patience at the plate and aggressive base running to overcome being out-hit by the Rockets 7–4. Jackson also stole two bases for Corry, helping create scoring opportunities throughout the game.
With the win, Corry starts off the season 1-0 and will host the Seneca Bobcats Wednesday night at Columbus field. For those who can’t make it to the game, you can watch it live on the DeeJ Experience Sports Stream at www.deejexperience.com
