CORRY, PA – It was a special night for the Corry Beavers baseball team as they celebrated senior night on Monday. Kamdyn Moon, Wyatt Swann and Tucker Jackson were each recognized and the Beavers honored the Fairview seniors as well. After the ceremony was complete, the undefeated Tigers put their game faces on. Fairview scored seven runs in the first two innings and cruised to a 14-2 win over Corry.

Fairview took control early, scoring three runs in the first inning and adding four more in the second to build a 7-0 lead. The Tigers continued to add on, finishing with 14 runs despite collecting just eight hits.

Corry answered back in the bottom of the third inning, adding two runs on one hit and three walks but could not keep pace with the visitors. Corry managed just four hits. Swan, Jackson, Moon, and Jacob Anderson each recorded a hit, but the Beavers were unable to sustain any offensive momentum. Corry struck out 12 times and left seven runners on base.

Andrew Stevens reached base and scored three runs for the visiting Tigers to set the tone at the top of the lineup. Brayden Hennessy drove in three runs and including a Homrun, providing the biggest offensive highlight of the game. Robert Benford also had three RBIs, while Liam Hermann added two hits and an RBI. Austin Jewell chipped in with two RBIs.

Fairview capitalized on Corry’s defensive struggles. Corry committed 11 errors, leading to multiple unearned scoring opportunities for the Tigers.

Benford earned the win on the mound, pitching four innings and allowing two runs on two hits while striking out nine. J. Milam and N. Yeager combined to finish the game, limiting Corry to two additional hits over the final two innings. T. Jackson took the loss for Corry, allowing seven runs over one inning.

“Tonight was the perfect storm” Head coach Jake Cirigliano said. “We struggled but tomorrow is a new day and we are better than what we showed today! We will look to put together a solid game tomorrow.”

The loss moves the Beavers to 6-8 overall on the season and 2-4 in region five. They will head to Northwestern on Tuesday to take on the Wildcats in another region five match up. Opening pitch is scheduled for 4:00 PM. DeeJ Experience will have coverage of the game weather permitting. www.deejexperience.com
