The AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) announced the 2024 Girls High
School Region Coaches of the Year and Corry High School coach Kelly Goodsel was
named to the list. He was one of 27 coaches named nationwide and will be formally
recognized at the 2024 AVCA Convention in Louisville during the High School/Club
Celebration on Friday, Dec. 19 at 5 p.m.
Coach Goodsel had a tremendous season, leading his team to a 19-2 record; winning
Region 4 and District 10 titles; and finishing second in the state in Class AA. Additionally,
Coach Goodsel surpassed his 250 th career win and had 4 players named to the PVCA
(Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association) All-State team.
“It’s an exciting honor to receive that reflects all the hard work of our coaching staff,
players, and managers. I have learned a lot from my involvement with the AVCA and
attending previous conventions,” said Coach Goodsel.
This year’s recipients are a diverse group, as they represent teams from 24 states and a
wide range of schools—large and small, urban and rural, public and private.

televised on ESPN on December 19 th and the Championship match will be on ABC on December 22nd .
