Lady Beavers struggle against a tough Cathedral Prep team

The Corry lady Beavers traveled to the Hagerty Family Events Center on Thursday night to take on Cathedral Prep in a non-region match. Prep jumped out to a quick 23-6 first quarter lead after one and never looked back. The Ramblers earned the victory with a final score of 60-23.
"The Ramblers shot phenomenally from behind the arch, they are a tough team. I thought we played a full 4 quarters with great energy and effort." Coach Mumau said.
Cathedral Prep had eight players hit the scoresheet, but the majority was lead by their red hot senior Natalie Spano. Spano connected on six three-point shots and finished the night with 26 Points. Senior Grace Orlando connected on four three-point shots for 12 points on the night, and freshman Leah Nies rounded out the top three scores for the Ramblers with two three-pointers and a total of nine points.
For the Beavers, Ava West led the way with 13 points. Grace Allen had three points and four assists, Haley Mumau had three points, Regan Kemp with 2 points, Madi Leofsky with 2 points, and Rylee Nickerson tallied one assist.
Reagan Kemp led Corry in rebounds with five while Allen finished with three, Mumau and West had two each, Nickerson and Leofsky both had one. Defensively, West had 2 steals while Nickerson, Allen, Kemp, and Mumau all had 1 each.
With the loss, Corry falls to 2-3 on the year. The Beavers will travel to North East on Saturday to take on the lady Pickers in a Saturday morning special. It will be a Varsity only game with the tipoff scheduled for 11:00 AM.
